THE PARTS

Making assets

At this point I’m starting the sketching keeping in mind what would be useful in all substrate a party would need. I know I’d need simple icons that match the them and are versatile in context of the diverse audience that enjoy The Carnival.

The main elements I wanted included in this series of graphics includes:

Masquerade Masks
Bead Necklaces
People and families
Bourbon Street Signs & Fences
Confetti, Streamers, Party Elements
And this must work on light and dark backgrounds

Below you’ll see the sketches and finished icons.

I was inspired by the masquerade party masks the feathers that adorn them. Also I kept to the green, yellow, and purple colors that come in everything to the beads(usually dangling from the trees and power lines) to the masks and floats during the parades.

Building the foundation

Starting with some fairly basic shapes I made some simple icons that can be moved around and used to ad a fun flare to advertising. What’s great about starting with simple shapes is that they’re the building blocks to creating complex and simple Icons.

I’ll be adding onto this section since the sky’s the limit.

LETS SEE HOW I UTILIZE THESE BLOCKS!
